Self Cover is a cheaper option for book printing

What Self Cover refers to?

Self Cover is a cheaper option as the whole document can be printed in one go. A document which is not self covering and is made up of a thicker material like a 200gsm gloss or in deed a completely different material entirely such as a 350gsm recycled offset. This means that the document needs to be printed in 2 passes (twice), once for the outer cover on the specified material, by outer cover we mean the inner and outer side of the cover as it's the same sheet of paper to make up these 4 pages.

Self Cover is Used in Saddle Stitch binding book

A Self Cover is most commonly used in conjunction with the Saddle Stitch binding method. Any saddle stitched booklet or multi-page document that does not require the durability and longevity of a heavier cover is frequently produced as a Self Cover. For example, a price booklet or catalog that changes frequently is often made as a Self Cover document.

Image Printing go to great lengths to provide competitive prices

A printer only does printing job while a multifunction printer is also a scanner, a copier and a fax machine.

Therefore, choosing a good multifunction printer has to consider the printing, scanning, faxing and copying functions at the same time. Here are two basic quetions the printer wil ask before your printing projects begin.

1.Different printing project requires different set of Specs.

Your printer needs different information to quote on a business card or postcard than he needs to quote on a multi-page document such as a book. Since books are a little more involved than most printing projects, I thought they would be a good example to use while explaining printing Specs.
2.Virtually all printing projects are made-to-order.
This is because each printed piece is unique and created for a particular purpose. The purpose of the piece determines its characteristics. Your printer refers to the unique characteristics of your project as Specifications or"Specs". These Specs are what your printer needs to know in order to accurately quote and print your project.

Embossing is very common for a design.

In printing, Embossing is accomplished on a letterpress. The most common machines are the Kluge Letterpress and the Heidelberg Letterpress. The term "impressing" enables one to distinguish an image lowered into the surface of a material, in distinction to an image raised out of the surface of a material

Embossing is very common for a design.

Blind embossing is when you leave the embossed area plain, there is no ink or special foils applied. You are left with a clean and elegant 3D design. Also it is much cheaper to have a blind embossed than one with a finishing on it.

A smooth Embossed design stands out against its textured backgroundTextured paper is commonly used for Blind Embossing ,because the process not only raises the design, it also provides the option of pressing the paper smooth where it is embossed. This provides additional contrast against the textured area surrounding the embossed design.

Saving money on multiple-page projects by considering the page count.

Saving money on multiple-page projects by considering the page count.
Customers frequently ask us how to save money on their projects. One of the best ways is to create documents that utilize paper efficiently. In this article we discuss methods of saving money on multiple-page projects by considering the page count.
Let's start by defining a page. Imagine you are reading the front page of a newspaper. You turn the page and are now on page 2. Both pages are part of a single sheet, or "signature.  A signature is a press sheet whose pages are positioned so they can be printed, folded, and bound into a finished book. Printers often refer to 8- or 16-page signatures, meaning the press sheet has 8 or 16 pages printed on it.
Remerber 100 sheets = 200 pages in Printing
Open up a book and flip through it. As the sheets flip by, notice that each sheet has two sides. Your printer refers to each side of these sheets as a separate page. So to a book printer, every sheet within the book represents two pages. However, those new to book printing often refer to each sheet within the book as one page.
So when you request a quote on a book project, please make sure you and your printer understand the proper page count. Otherwise the price quote will not be accurate. Just remember that each side of the sheets within a book counts as one page: 100 sheets = 200 pages.
At Image Printing, we use the offset printing technique, which means quality products, cheaper prices, and a quick turnaround. Picking the photo book printing service that's best for you is no small challenge, but this incredibly detailed and comprehensive photo book roundup will make it easier.

What is Hardback books

Hardback books are protected by their binding in a way that paperback books are not and may be less prone to tear and wear as a result and are less likely to get dog ears. Although, be aware that libraries will often request that you do not return large hardcover books through the after hours chute, as these books can be easily damaged if they land awkwardly when dropped from a height.

And while a paperback can be easily bent out of shape, the flexibility of a paperback can be its saving grace when carrying it about as it can squish into small bags and provided you take care, still come out okay for a good read!

A consistent look and a unified message are important factors toward creating awareness and building recognition.

Colorful postcards are inexpensive to print and mail
so they can be sent to thousands of prospects and current customers. Promotional inserts can also be easily forwarded to current customers by placing them with invoices, statements and other correspondence. In addition, custom invitations or announcements can be printed with your promotional message and sent via direct mail.

The brochures must be designed to showcase your company
The brochures, sell sheets and other printed literature you share with prospects at a trade show must be designed to showcase your company and present your offerings in the best possible light. All trade show literature should be designed to supplement the expertise of your booth staff, helping them to educate, answer questions and persuade.

Your literature is a reflection of your company, so don't skimp on the quality. Also, you should carefully control your literature distribution at the show and only present it to prospects that demonstrate a sincere interest. Laying it out for every passerby to grab is a wasteful practice that generates minimal return.

A consistent look and a unified message are important factors toward creating awareness and building recognition.
Whichever method of print communication you choose for your trade promotion in Image Printing, strive for a look that will be consistent with the displays in your booth and complement the other printed literature you plan to distribute during or after the show.

a trade show brings you face to face with scores of decision makers

Custom print materials are an important part of a successful trade show plan because they help promote a company's upcoming presence at the show, engage the booth visitors during the show and provide a method to properly follow up after the show.

Exhibiting at a trade show is an effective way to market your company and brand.
Unlike other marketing channels, a trade show brings you face to face with scores of decision makers while providing a dynamic venue to introduce and demonstrate new products and services.

A successful trade show experience doesn't just happen by accident
As the owner of a commercial printing company, I' ve assisted a lot of companies with their trade show materials. And I can tell you that the companies that extract the most benefit from participating in a trade show have a well crafted plan,a plan that is launched months before the show and continues after the show is over.

AFTER the Trade Show
In order to get the maximum return on your trade show investment, it is imperative that you follow up with the contacts you made at the show. After all, you' ve spent days collecting business cards, swiping badges and harvesting valuable contact information for a single reason'to turn those qualified leads into customers. But sadly, most companies do a poor job of post show follow up. Don't be one of them!
